AMERICUS, Ga. (January 14, 2025) — Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) will host its 45th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Convocation in the GSW Student Success Center Convocation Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m. with Andra Brantley serving as keynote speaker.
Brantley currently serves as the Region I representative for the state of Georgia and is the immediate past Basileus of the Mu Mu Mu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is a member of the Black Speakers Network and is an accomplished speaker on topics such as Black history, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Juneteenth, the role of Black men and educational disparities in disadvantaged communities, college admissions, and leadership development.
He is the founder and CEO of BNB Strategy Group LLC and host of “The Silent Partner” podcast, which focuses on increasing intellectual and working capital in both rural and urban communities. Brantley is also a speaker, education consultant, leadership coach, and mentor to young men and women across metro Atlanta.
Brantley is the former director of admissions at Young Harris College, senior assistant director at Clark Atlanta University, and assistant director at Georgia State University. He is a retired manager and training instructor for CSX Transportation and a former supervisor at Shaw Industries.
Brantley has held key leadership positions, including serving on the Georgia Southwestern State University Alumni Board, the Men of Vision Inc. Board of Directors, and the Carroll Career Academy Board. He aspires to one day present on a TED Talk stage.
A native of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Brantley now resides in Powder Springs, Georgia, with his wife, Crystal. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Southwestern State University and two master’s degrees from the University of Phoenix.
The MLK Convocation is sponsored by the African American Male Institute (AAMI), GSW’s Division of Business and Finance, GSW MLK Convocation Committee, GSW Gospel Choir, National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), Strong United Assertive Virtuous Educated Women (SUAVE), Division of Student Engagement and Success (SES), the Student African American Brotherhood (SAAB), and Student Government Association (SGA).
