We hope GSW students are all doing well and adjusting to all of the changes that are taking place for the semester, and in your communities as well. The administration wants to assure you that we are working hard to ensure you can be successful this semester.
We appreciate all the questions you have been asking. Keep them coming. That’s how we know what information you need. Hopefully the Q&A below will answer some of your questions, but please reach out to us with any others you have along the way.
Classes start back Monday. What should I do?
Check your Radar email account several times a day. This is the way many faculty will communicate with you. Also log in to GeorgiaVIEW every day, as this is another way faculty will communicate with you.
I’ve never used GeorgiaVIEW. How can I find it?
If GeorgiaVIEW is new to you, we have a great resource Getting Started with GeorgiaVIEW that will walk you through the process.
I’m nervous about learning online. Any suggestions?
There is a Student Resources section on the GSW COVID-19 web page that provides information about campus services that are available, how to work in an online learning environment, and more. This is being updated continually so check back regularly to see what has been added.
Tips, tricks, and Q&As will also be shared on GSW's Instagram story so be sure to follow them @georgiasouthwestern.
Who is my advisor?
Log in to Rain, go to Student Services -> Student Records -> GSW Unofficial Academic Transcript -> Primary Advisor.
We are in the middle of advising and I have not heard from my advisor. What do I do?
Please reach out to the Dean of your college for assistance. If you are unsure who that is, see below:
When can I register for classes for next year?
You can go to this page to find out when you are able to register for classes. You can also still register for Maymester and Summer classes too!
I was in the middle of changing my major. How do I go about registering for classes now?
You can still register for classes during the transition. If you still have to complete the paperwork for this process, you can find the form you need to fill out here. You can scan and email this to the Dean of the college you are entering, and they can help you figure out what classes you need in your new major.
What’s happening with Maymester and Summer School classes?
At this point, we are operating under the assumption that we will be back on campus for face-to-face instruction. We will keep you updated should circumstances require us to move instruction online.
Are we allowed to stay on campus during the summer?
If circumstances change by summer session and we have classes face-to-face, then the resident halls will be open.
