The Testing Center strives to provide an environment that is professional for the campus and community, maintaining professional testing standards, practices and confidentiality of student records. The Testing Center offers a comfortable, quiet, secure environment with 20 computers, and professional staff. The Testing Center assists GSW faculty, students and surrounding community with their testing needs.

The Testing Center provides secure testing, accurate scoring, clear reporting and responsive service. The
Testing Center offers such tests as the GACE, TEAS, HESI, TOEFL, CLEP, COMPASS, ACCUPLACER, eCore, and proctoring services of tests.

Georgia Legislative Requirements

All test takers are required to report to the testing center 30 minutes prior to scheduled test time. If late, test taker may not be allowed to test.

Georgia Southwestern State University Testing Center proctors exams for GSW students, students of other universities, and colleges taking online classes. Students wishing to be proctored at GSW Testing Center must be approved by the school you are requesting to be proctored for.

Once you have been approved by your institution you will need to call and set up an appointment and complete the Registration Form. Please have your school email the proctor information and instructions to us. The $25 testing fee can be paid over the phone or in person through the Office of Student Accounts. Photo ID and proof of payment are required.

The University System of Georgia Board of Regents requires that each eCore course contain at least one proctored exam. Exams in eCore classes work differently than those in traditional, on-campus classes, because they require you to plan and schedule any and all appointments.

  • Eligibility: Students enrolled in eCore courses.
  • Appointments: Students must schedule their proctored exams through their GoVIEW course. Walk-ins are not permitted.
  • Required ID: Your identification must be valid (unexpired), original, and include your full legal name, a recent photo, and signature. Acceptable IDs include passport, government-issued driver's license, state ID, or military ID. The first and last names on your identification must exactly match those in your school records.
  • Allowable items: You are responsible for bringing any resources your instructor is permitting you to use on the exam. We will provide you with scratch paper and pencil if allowed.
  1. Appointments are required for all tests.
  2. Test fees must be paid upon registration/scheduling of appointment, are non-refundable, and subject to change.
  3. Government-issued photo ID with signature (driver’s license, passport, state ID) that is current and valid is required for all tests. Some tests require additional forms of identification.
  4. Test taker will be constantly monitored during their tests.
  5. Drinks, food or chewing gum is not allowed in testing rooms.
  6. Cell phones, alarm watches, pagers, and weapons of any kind are not permitted in the Testing Center and should be left at home. We will not provide security for personal items.
  7. Any jewelry, clothing items allowed to be worn in the Testing Center must remain on your person at all times.
  8. No caps or hats with brims are permitted in testing rooms.
  9. Calculators, dictionaries etc. are not provided by the Testing Center if allowed on your test. These items are your responsibility.
  10. Personal laptops, E-Books, e-readers, or other electronic devices containing notes or textbooks are not allowed without written permission from your instructor.
  11. No children are permitted in testing rooms and will not be allowed to remain in the Testing Center while your tests are being administered.
  12. The Testing Center must be informed about any accommodations needed due to documented disabilities at the time registration and appointments are made.
  13. Test takers caught cheating will be reported to the appropriate department, program or testing company.
  14. Persons not taking a test are not permitted to wait in the Testing Center.
  15. Test takers must conduct themselves in a civil manner at all times when on the premises of the Testing Center. Exhibiting abusive behavior towards staff may result in your removal from the center.
  16. The Testing center voluntarily abides by the Professional Standards and Guidelines for Post-Secondary Test centers, as adopted by the National College Testing Association (NCTA), to the best of its ability.
