Established in 1939, the GSW Marshals is an ambassador program that allows students to serve as university hosts for special events. As one of the oldest student organizations on campus, the Marshals' first official duty was to host the June 1939 commencement. Former First Lady Rosalynn Smith Carter served as a Marshal in 1946. Marshals are recommended and then are invited to participate in an interview. If selected, they go through a training as well.
