Georgia Southwestern is ranked 6th among the nation’s most affordable online colleges in 2016 according to a report by rankings.com. GSW received the Editor’s Award for Best Tuition.
Georgia Southwestern is ranked 40th out of the 100 Most Affordable Small Colleges in the U.S. by bestvalueschools.com. The site defined a “small college” as a traditional, four-year college or university that has 4,000 or fewer students. There are approximately 700 schools of this size in the U.S.
Similarly, greatvaluecolleges.net ranked Georgia Southwestern 23rd out of the 100 Most Affordable Small Colleges East of the Mississippi. Of the more than 400 qualifying colleges, Great Value Colleges determined the top 100 most affordable by calculating each college’s net price, which is an adjusted price that takes into account the annual cost of tuition and other fees as well as the average financial aid package offered to students.
Top 5 in Education
Georgia Southwestern’s School of Education was listed as a “Top 5” best value education program in Georgia by The National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ). GSW's undergraduate secondary education degree ranked third.
Best Online Nursing Programs
The Georgia Southwestern State University School of Nursing was recently ranked 38th in the nation on a list of the “Best Online Nursing Programs” by AffordableCollegesOnline.org (AC Online) in its third annual ranking. Georgia Southwestern was among five universities in Georgia that made the list.
Southwestern's Master of Science in nursing program is ranked 45th out of the 50 best graduate nursing programs in Americaby www.topmastersinhealthcare.com.
Top 20 Best Buy in BSIT
The online Bachelor of Science in Information Technology has been ranked as one of the Top 20 "Best Buys" in the country by GetEducated.com, a consumer group that rates, ranks, and verifies the cost and credibility of online universities. The site ranked the University System of Georgia's (USG) WebBSIT program 16th in the nation, out of 88 schools. Southwestern is one of only six schools within the USG's WebBSIT program.
CPA Exam Success
According to a study by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, Georgia Southwestern accounting graduates who took the most recent CPA exam stood out nationally. They ranked 25th among the nation’s medium-sized programs and 3rd among universities in Georgia. GSW students taking the exam for the first time scored a 67.7 percent pass rate, which is more than 12 points higher than the national pass rate and nearly four points higher than the pass rate for Georgia universities.
Best Value HR Degree
Georgia Southwestern is ranked 2nd on the 50 Most Affordable Small Colleges for an HR Degree 2016 list assembled by humanresourcesmba.net. GSW was one of only two Georgia colleges that made the list.
