President Kendall Blanchard made the announcement today following a national search. Serving as the interim AD since June replacing Jaclyn Donovan, Leeder will remain the head men’s basketball coach.
AMERICUS (Nov. 11, 2014)--The 32nd Annual Meeting of the Association of Third World Studies (ATWS), Inc. was held at Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colo. Oct. 16-18. The conference was co-sponsored by ATWS, Georgia Southwestern State University, Metropolitan State, and Louisiana State University, Shreveport.
AMERICUS (Nov. 10, 2014)--Beginning this semester, Georgia Southwestern State University has added a new tool to aid in student success. The program called Beacon (a Campus Labs product) is a web-based early alert system, and its main purpose is to identify students that might be lacking the resources they need to succeed and to connect these students to those resources.
AMERICUS (Oct. 31, 2014)—The Visual Arts Department at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) is joining with several local organizations to help eliminate hunger and poverty housing in Americus. Under the name “Synergy,” the culmination of two separate initiatives – “Empty Bowls” and “Boundaries” – will take place Sunday, Nov. 2 from 2-5 p.m. in a local Habitat for Humanity International house scheduled for renovation this spring.
