GSW’s sixth annual Day of Giving was held Thursday, September 19, 2024. This 24-hour fundraising campaign was an opportunity for Hurricanes around the world—alumni, community members, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and students—to join together and show support for Georgia Southwestern State University. This year’s efforts continued to focus on the annual fund, various scholarships, student programs, and a capital improvement project. We raised the bar even higher by increasing our goal to 500 total donors! Additionally, we challenged donors from each of the 50 states (and beyond) to light up their state and Turn the Map Gold!
Southwestern Promise Scholarships offer $1,000 and $3,000 scholarships for all eligible GSW freshmen who meet certain academic requirements.
This fund provides a source for campus and student needs as they arise including conference expenses, extra-curricular learning programs, emergency expenses and campus activities and operation.
Your contribution to GSW Athletics includes, but is not limited to, support for athletic facility improvements, scholarships, and recruiting enhancements.
Contributions to support the Carter Leadership Program will bolster existing programs and ensure enhancement of opportunities and involvement.
The renovation of the Griffin Bell Conference Center will help foster local entrepreneurs with a makerspace and provide a venue for social functions and conferences.
We challenged our fellow Hurricanes and GSW supporters across the nation to come together to help students’ lives and help us "Turn the Map Gold" by receiving a donation from every state in the United States!
