The Ed.S. program extends opportunities to students who have busy work schedules and families. The courses in this program are offered in a hybrid format to offer a flexible learning environment and can be completed in just 13 months.
Graduates of the Teacher Leadership program will be classroom teachers and teacher leaders who are able to plan and lead job-embedded professional learning; build a collaborative work environment; align curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices; model best practices; mentor and coach other educators; collaborate with others to analyze data; apply research findings to improve teaching and learning; and collaborate with stakeholders to guide positive change.

Georgia Southwestern's College of Education offers Georgia's leading graduate program in terms of cost, convenience, and speed of completion. Students can complete a degree in 13 months at a fraction of the cost of most graduate programs.
Affordable program costs:
No new GACE assessments required for Ed.S. Elementary Education and Middle Grades Education programs.
*GACE assessment (portfolio) required for Ed.S. Teacher Leadership.
Students wishing to apply to the College of Education graduate program at Georgia Southwestern State University must submit a completed admissions packet. Incomplete packets may not be reviewed for admissions. The complete admissions packet is comprised of the following:
A minimum of 3.0 grade point average of all previous graduate coursework is required.
Ed.S. applicants need only show graduate level coursework
The EdS program accepts students into the Summer semester. Deadline for all materials is June 14.
The TEACH Grant Program provides grants up to $4,000 a year to graduate students in the process of completing or planning to complete a degree or courses necessary to begin a career in teaching.
