Protecting yourself against ransomware

Due to recent ransomware attacks, we would like to remind you all of a few tips to keep yourself and your data safe:

  1. DO NOT click attachments or links in suspicious email
  2. DO back up critical data
  3. DO keep software up-to-date
  4. DO use security software
  5. As always, DO follow the suggestions in our email standard.
  6. If you are a victim of a ransomware attack, DO NOT pay the ransom

Your GSW workstation is protected using security software, and software is kept up-to-date according to our patch management plan. However, you should be sure to use security software and up-to-date software on your personal devices and computers.

If you need help with any of these recommendations, or if you have any questions, please contact Technical Support by emailing techsupp@gsw.edu or by calling 931-2074.
