GSW promotes a campus culture of safety and well-being through education and awareness initiatives to support both academic and behavioral success.

Shuttle Services

GSW’s Office of Student Engagement provides students with free transportation to different locations in Americus. The Shuttle picks up GSW Students outside of the Storm Dome parking lot near Chick-fil-a approximately every hour on the hour. In the event of overflow, the driver will come back and make a second run. 

The shuttle visits different common locations in Americus such as grocery stores and banks. It meets in central locations on campus, usually in the Storm Dome parking lot. For students needing special requests such as an uncommon location or transportation to Albany for immigration services, please contact the Office of Student Engagement via email at student.engagement@gsw.edu.

Shuttle Hours:

  • Monday: 11 a.m.  - 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Friday: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The shuttle cell phone is (229) 815-9689 and is only in service during the regular shuttle hours. 

Canes Harvest

Canes Harvest is GSW's Community Pantry, located on the 3rd floor of the Student Success Center. The pantry is open to faculty, staff, and students who are in need of essential items. 

Canes Harvest stocks a variety of items year-round including, 

  • Frozen Food
  • Non-perishable food 
  • Personal care items

Canes Harvest is open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

FAQ

How can I donate?

Donations are accepted every work day. Donation drives will be organized during school semesters. 

Donations can be dropped off on the 3rd floor of the SSC or arrangements can be made for on campus pick up.

What shouldn't I donate?

  • Items needing refrigeration (this does not include frozen items)
  • Expired Food
  • Items without expiration date 
  • Food that may have been contaminated 

What if I am in need of an item that is not available from the pantry?

Certain Items can be requested for the pantry, but the items must be a a reasonable necessity. For item request contact Caitlin Grindall, caitlin.grindall@gsw.edu.

Previous ATMs located on campus have been removed due to lack of use. Please visit one of the local banks in order to make cash withdrawals.
