Sculpture

Sculpture students are challenged to understand historical and contemporary art issues with emphasis placed on the development of personal expression, conceptual exploration, and technical ability. Instruction focuses on woodworking, welded steel, casting, and mixed media assemblage.

Students will be introduced to a wide variety of materials and processes with an emphasis on best studio practices for safety and skill building.

Interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged with other media areas. Ongoing critiques are essential in the development of craftsmanship and the articulation of ideas.
