Online courses offered by the College of Business and Computing require proctored examinations. This requirement is in place for several reasons, including increased pressure from the Federal Department of Education to verify the identities of online students and to increase opportunities for academic integrity.

We looked at several alternative ways of instituting this change and decided to use an online proctoring service. ProctorU will administer the proctored exams. Our research indicated that it would be preferable to limit the times students could take the exam to times when official testing sites are open, as well as being less expensive than most of the testing sites. ProctorU offers 24/7 testing and allows a test now feature.

Each online course will require up to three proctored exams. Students are responsible for paying for the cost of the exams and any convenience fees.
