A unit of the School of Computing and Mathematics, the Department of Mathematics at Georgia Southwestern State University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Many of our majors select our Certification Option and pursue a career as a teacher of mathematics at the high school level. Others opt for our Option in Financial Engineering, Computational Science Engineering or the pure Mathematics degree and typically pursue jobs in industry or continue their education in graduate school. Members of the department serve as both educators and advisors to our students and work hard to turn out well-rounded individuals with all the tools they need to achieve success in their careers and in life.
The department has offices located on the second floor of Crawford Wheatley Hall (CWH). The links to the left provide information about the department and should help answer any questions you might have, but if you are unable to find the information you need, please contact the department chair, the school secretary, or any other member of the department. We are here to help you.
