Interesting and Relevant Work Experience: Total of 17 years teaching ESL, including 5 ½ years in South Korea, worked as a D.J. (disk jockey) at a radio station in Georgia
Member: NAFSA: Association of International Educators, Georgia TESOL, and Georgia Council of Teachers of English
Hobbies: Reading, watching TV and movies, listening to music, and driving
Travel Experience: Lived in Inchon, South Korea for 5 ½ years, visited Hong Kong, Thailand, and the Philippines in 1994, Guam in 1997, and Japan in 2010.

Cindy Schaeffner

Interesting and Relevant Work Experience: Woman's Missionary Union Director for the Friendship Baptist Association, Spiritual Growth Leader at the Sumter County Jail
Travel Experience: Avid traveler - visited 20 different countries, many of them more than once and I try to stay in homes, whenever possible

Education: BA from Agnes Scott College with a double major in English and Art. MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa.  
Interesting and Relevant Work Experience:  Spent one summer working abroad in Crans-sur-Sierre, Switzerland. Served as Director of the Social Staff at the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. Served as Director of the Sand Hills Writers’ Conference. Served on the Literary Arts Panel for the Georgia Council of the Arts.
Hobbies:  Writing, playing fingerstyle guitar, drawing, painting, working with clay or wood, biking, gardening, romping with my dogs.
Travel Experience: I’ve lived in or visited eight European countries, and all areas of the United States except the Pacific Northwest.


Julian McCullough

Julian McCullough - Activities Coordinator

Education: BA from Columbia University with a major in Geography. MDiv. from Princeton Theological Seminary with a concentration in Practical Theology. MA from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education.
Interesting and Relevant Work Experience: I have taught ESL for ten years in South Korea and I have taught in California’s public schools for three years. A long time ago, I was a tour guide at the South Street Seaport Museum in New York. Many years later, I was President of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 260.
Hobbies:  I love to travel, follow international news, and eat international food. I also love cleaning my house and making home improvements.
Travel Experience: I grew up overseas. I lived in Singapore, Indonesia, England, Germany, and Switzerland. I have also visited 44 countries.
