In Need of Extra Assistance?

Georgia Southwestern offers students a variety of ways to succeed during their educational journey by offering tutoring and supplemental instruction at the Tutoring Center. Students can choose in-person or online instruction to assist in their challenging courses. Peer tutoring and supplemental instruction provides students with extra opportunities to learn study skills and develop good study habits. The Tutoring Center is a walk-in tutoring center for students needing extra support in math and science courses. Online tutoring is available through GeorgiaView.

Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction Resource Course

This course is an ongoing database of resources such as videos, study tools, organization tools, and discussion boards to assist students with maneuvering through their courses. In addition, students may receive online instructions for select courses using Collaborate Ultra Videoconferencing. Students may gain access when completing the Tutor Request Form for information about tutoring and supplemental instruction.

Accessing Online Tutoring Services

To access online tutoring and supplemental instruction services, complete the following:

  • Submit an Tutoring Request Form. Once submitted, you will be added to the Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction course in GeorgiaVIEW.
  • For online tutoring, you will be contacted by the tutor or SI Leader via email to set up an appointment time.
  • Once the appointment is set, log in to GeorgiaVIEW and access the Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction course.
  • Click on the online tutoring module on the course homepage.
  • Click on the Collaborate Ultra Videoconferencing link and join your session.

Get the Most Out of Tutoring

Please have all of your materials with you when you enter the session. Have specific questions prepared before the session. Tutors cannot assist students if they do not know their needs. It is not the tutors' responsibility to do your work. Tutors guide students to a clearer understanding.
