The Admissions Office of Georgia Southwestern State University will be holding an information session for interested adult learners on returning to college and the “Go Back. Move Ahead.” initiative on Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. in the Nursing Auditorium of the Rosalynn Carter Health and Human Sciences Complex.
WHAT: Georgia Southwestern State University hosted its first annual 'Wheatley Lighting' event, Nov. 30, 2015. Lights strung on the *Wheatley Administration Building, were turned on ceremoniously in honor of the holiday season. Free hot chocolate was served. This event was open to GSW students, faculty, staff and the Americus community.
AMERICUS (Sept. 18, 2015)—Georgia Southwestern State University has announced its 2015-2016 Chamber Concert Series, opening with Alfonso Lopez, violin and Michelle Tabor, piano on Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Jackson Performance Hall. This year marks the 37th season of the series.
Constitution Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is normally observed on September 17, the day in 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia.
AMERICUS, Ga. (Sept. 14, 2015)— National Prisoner of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA) Recognition Day is Friday, Sept. 18. According to historical data, over 18,800 Georgians have been held as prisoners of war (POW), with more than 2,630 having died in captivity and over 1,400 still unaccounted for, dating back to the Revolutionary War. In their honor, Georgia Southwestern State University is helping host “The Ride Home” again this year.
