Spann retires from School of Education after 25 years

            After 25 years at Georgia Southwestern State University, Dr. Judy Spann will officially retire June 30 from the School of Education. Above, Spann, left, receives a plaque from Dr. Lettie Watford, dean of the School of Education, at a retirement reception. Spann is currently the assistant dean for accreditation and a professor of special education. Spann’s tenure at Georgia Southwestern began Sept. 1, 1985. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education at West Georgia College and her Ph.D. at Florida State University.
