GSW SIFE places in national

competition

            PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—Having won a regional championship in Atlanta earlier this year, the Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team earned first runner-up honors in their league at the National Exposition in Philadelphia, Pa. May 10-12. Georgia Southwestern SIFE finished among the top 32 teams in the nation and as the highest ranked team in Georgia.

            SIFE is an international non-profit organization active on over 1,400 university campuses in more than 40 countries. SIFE teams create economic opportunities in their communities by organizing outreach projects that meet market economics, entrepreneurship, personal financial success skills and business ethics criteria. Their projects are judged at competition on creativity, innovation and effectiveness.

            During the academic year, the GSW SIFE team organized 27 projects dealing with teaching and promoting free enterprise at the local, national and international level. The School of Business Advisory Board and partners have been instrumental in providing the support necessary to complete these projects.
