Ellington to lead new master’s in English      

           AMERICUS—In April, the University System of Georgia Board of Regents approved Georgia Southwestern State University’s Master of Arts program in English with emphasis on critical literacies. Dr. Peggy Ellington, former chair of the Department of English and Modern Languages, has been appointed director of the University’s new master’s program. The program’s first students will be admitted in Jan. of 2011. 

Dr. Liz Kuipers, associate professor of English, will assume the duties as chair of English and Modern Languages.  Kuipers has been associated with this department since 1998 and brings a wealth of teaching and leadership experience to this role.
