GSW institutes new applicant tracking

system

AMERICUS—In a few weeks, Georgia Southwestern State University’s (GSW) Department of Human Resources will be rolling out a new applicant tracking system, GSW Jobs. This new applicant system is designed to address the needs of university recruitment and provide state-of-the-art technology to simplify the employment process.  It will replace paper applications and make applying for a job at GSW easier and faster for both applicants and hiring managers.  Below are a few advantages of this new online employment system:

Advantages to Job Seekers:
            - Establish a password protected individual file to maintain or update online employment               application.
            - Search and apply for positions from any location at any time 24-7.
            - Have the ability to apply for multiple positions online at one time.
            - Attach documents such as a resume or vita via attachments to the hiring supervisors.
            - Receive assistance to complete staff applications when access to a computer is needed.               (One PC located in HR)
            - Ability to search for faculty, staff and eventually student and graduate assistant positions               from one site.

The new tracking system will also allow hiring managers and search chairs to view applications and resumes/vitas as soon as applicants apply and to compose position specific questions to assist in screening for minimum qualifications. The electronic nature of this new system will provide timely feedback to applicants from the Department of Human Resources, and it will automatically archive applicant data.

As with any new system, some amount of change management will be necessary. During the transition, the traditional application process will be in place.
