Scholarship Audition Requirements

Voice

Repertoire:

1.    Art song or aria in Italian, Latin, or English

2.    Other song in contrasting style (In English if not sung in #1)

***An accompanist will be provided if needed***

Piano

Technique: All Major and Harmonic Minor Scales, 4 octaves.

Repertoire: Two pieces (memorized) from contrasting periods and in contrasting styles.

Exempli Gratis:

Nocturne in E-minor Op. Posth. 72, No. 1, Frederic Chopin

Toccata, Aram Ilyich Khachaturian

Sight-Reading: To be chosen at the audition

 

Instrumental

Technique: 3 major scales with arpeggios, and chromatic scale

Repertoire: One prepared selection (or solo passages from concert band music)

Sight-Reading: To be chosen at the audition
