Assistant Professor of History

Georgia Southwestern State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in post-1865 American History at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 1, 2010. The successful applicant will teach survey-level courses in U.S. History I & II as well as upper-level offerings in some area reflecting individual specialization.  Preference will be given to scholars with a field in women’s/African-American history.  Applicants must have the PhD in hand by August 1, 2010.  The teaching load is 4-4.  Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until position is filled.  Applicants should submit a GSW Faculty Application (available at www.gsw.edu/job/index.html ), curriculum vitae, cover letter describing teaching and research interests, and three letters of reference to Human Resources, History Search, Georgia Southwestern State University, 800 GSW State University Drive, Americus, GA 31709.
