Clinical Director/Lecturer Early Childhood Education – GSW-ABAC Collaborative

 

Non-tenure track, part-time position available August 2010 on the ABAC campus.

Responsibilities include successfully overseeing the GSW School of Education Clinical Practice of the candidates on the ABAC campus including placements of students in field experiences and student teaching with schools in local school systems, managing supervision of field experiences and clinical practice, meeting with Supervising Professors, Master Teachers, Professional Development Schools’ Network Liaisons, and Administrators of local school systems, and conducting field experience and student teaching orientations and seminars. The Clinical Director will also collaborate with faculty and staff and school personnel to resolve issues that occur during field experiences and serve on School and University Committees. The Clinical Director will also teach some Early Childhood Education courses on the ABAC campus. Master of Education in Early Childhood Education degree is required. At least 3 years of public school teaching preferred; Salary commensurate with expertise and experience. Assistant Professor, Special Education

Tenure-track position available August 2010.  Responsibilities include teaching special education courses at the undergraduate level on and off-campus, advising undergraduate candidates, supervising student teachers, and Institutional and School of Education committee service.  Doctorate in Special Education preferred with a minimum of five recent years of P-12 teaching experience in special education required; master’s degree and/or specialist degree in Special Education considered with a minimum of 10 years public school experience in special education and general education setting; adjunct teaching experience in special education, reading endorsement credentials, and/or prior supervisor experience of undergraduate teacher candidates.  Salary commensurate with expertise and experience.  Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until filled.  Submit GSW Faculty Application, cover letter, resume, transcripts of all academic work and contact information for three references to:  Human Resources, Special Education Search, Georgia Southwestern State University, 800 GSW State University Drive, Americus, GA 31709.
