Dean, School of Business Administration

 Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the School of Business Administration.  The Dean directs a school with approximately 20 full-time faculty members that offers undergraduate programs in Human Resources Management, Management, Accounting, and Marketing, as well as an MBA program, and is AACSB accredited. The Dean reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) and oversees academic quality within the school, provides guidance and support to the school’s area directors and faculty, and acts as a key advisor to the VPAA.

 Candidates must have an earned doctorate degree in a business discipline from an accredited institution of higher education, a record of distinguished teaching and scholarship, and the qualifications for the rank of professor in one of the School’s disciplines.  In addition, candidates must be willing to teach a minimum of one course per year. Candidates must have demonstrated administrative ability and experience, preferably in an institution of higher education with highly qualified and motivated faculty from diverse disciplines.  Candidates must be able to enhance the effectiveness and prominence of the School’s educational programs, research activities, and outreach programs, and to maintain and strengthen ties with other schools and organizations within the University and community it serves.

 Georgia Southwestern State University is a member of the University System of Georgia with approximately 3000 students.  It offers degrees in the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Schools of Business Administration, Computer and Information Sciences, Education, and Nursing.  The campus is located in historic Americus, 135 miles south of Atlanta in an area with mild climate, classical Southern architecture, and the advantages of small-town living.
