Browser Tune-up
Most of the problems people face, including logon problems, when using GeorgiaVIEW can be solved very easily by doing a browser tune-up before trying to login the first time. This needs to be done once on any non-campus computer you will be using. The information on this page will walk you through correctly configuring your browser for use with GeorgiaVIEW.

- Install Sun Java on your computer
- Open the Internet Explorer browser and make sure you have the latest version.
- Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- Under the General tab, click the Settings button in the Browsing History section.
- Select Every visit to the page and click OK
- Under the Security tab, click Trusted sites at the top of the page, then click the Sites button.
- In the text box labeled Add this site to the zone, type in https://gsw.view.usg.edu/, click Add, then click Close.
- Click the Custom level button, and scroll down until you see the Userdata persistance option. Make sure Enable is selected, then click OK
- Under the Privacy tab, click and drag the slider bar to the Medium setting, and click OK.
- Under the Connections tab, click the LAN Settings. Select Automatically detect settings and click OK.
- Under the Advanced tab, Uncheck Show friendly HTTP error messages and click Apply.
- Click here to see information about Service Pack 2 (SP2).
- After making all of these changes, close Internet Explorer and re-open it. The changes will now take effect.
- Install Sun Java on your computer.
- Open the Mozilla browser and make sure you have the latest version installed.
- From the Tools menu select Options.
- In the upper pane, select Content.
- Uncheck Block pop-up windows.
- Make sure that Enable Javascript and Enable Java are checked.
- In the upper pane, select Privacy.
- Under Cookies, make sure the Accept cookies from sites checkbox is selected and click OK.
- Click here to see information about Service Pack 2 (SP2).
- After making all of the above changes, close Firefox and re-open it. The changes will now take effect.
- Install Sun Java on your computer.
- You must have OS X installed. Older operating systems (OS 9 or lower) are not supported with GeorgiaVIEW and may have problems with some features.

- It is recommended that Macintosh users have at least OS X version 10.4.2, which has JRE 1.5, and the latest version of Safari. You can get the latest version of Safari by selecting "Software update..." from the Apple menu (upper left-hand corner of your display).
