The Association of Third World Studies Inc. (ATWS) was launched in 1983 to bring together scholars and researchers from third world countries interested in research, scholarly and development matters affecting the developing world.

The 6th ATWS International Conference Kenya Chapter organizing committee invites interested persons from government and non-governmental organizations, research institutions, learning institutions etc to participate in the forthcoming conference at Western University College of Science and Technology (WUCST) from November 22 – 24, 2005.

The sub-themes of the conference are:-

1.    Sustainable development and governance

2.    Education, training and ICT

3.    Environment, energy, health and disaster management

4.    Historical, cultural and religious issues
