The Latin American Studies Certificate is designed to provide an interdisciplinary unit of study allowing students the opportunity to become more competent in a growing subject area outside of their traditional course of study. This certificate must be taken in conjunction with a 4-year degree offered at Southwestern. The program enhances a student’s knowledge and understanding of Latin America. This region is growing very quickly in importance, both economically and culturally, and offers students the opportunity to pursue an area of specialization which may not be met by conventional majors.
