Logging in to CanesNet

Faculty and Staff

CanesNet will show up on your computer or mobile device with the SSID "CanesNet". After selecting and connecting to CanesNet you will be prompted for your username and password. Faculty and staff should use the same "firstname.lastname" username and password that they use for Active Directory or the new Exchange email system. If you are already using your "firstname.lastname" username to log in to your office computer OR are using your "firstname.lastname" username to access the new Exchange email system, then you will NOT have to contact the IIT department to get a new username and password. If a faculty or staff member has NOT been migrated to Active Directory or the new Exchange email system then they can come by Morgan Hall with a photo ID and obtain a CanesNet username and password. If you are not sure or have any questions, contact the IIT department at techsupp@gsw.edu or call 931-2074. Upon connecting your computer or portable device to the CanesNet wireless network, you must open a browser and accept the Network Usage policy by clicking the "I Agree to the Policy Above" button.

Each individual is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of his/her CanesNet login and password. Login credentials should, under no circumstances be shared and to do so is a violation of GSW network policy.

Students

CanesNet will show up on your computer or mobile device with the SSID "CanesNet". After selecting and connecting to CanesNet you will be prompted for your username and password. Students will use the same CanesNet log-in that they are currently using in the computer labs. Before a student can use his CanesNet account to access the wireless network, he must go to a lab and log in and change the initial password.
