AMERICUS (Oct. 11, 2011)—David Jenkins, assistant director of Admissions at Georgia SouthwesternState University (GSW), has been elected treasurer of the Georgia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (GACRAO) for 2011-2012. Jenkins was chosen by his professional peers during the Association’s 58th annual meeting held at the Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, Ga. Oct. 9-11.
GACRAO is composed of higher education professionals from more than 100 admissions and records departments at public and private colleges and universities located throughout the state of Georgia. The Association works to advance the professional goals of its members through the dissemination of information and the interchange of ideas on problems of common interest to higher education.
Jenkins is the first GSW staffer to be elected to serve on the GACRAO executive committee. He earned both a BBA and an MBA from Georgia Southwestern.
The newly-elected GACRAO executive committee consists of President Nichole Kennedy, Ph.D., executive director of Student Affairs for the Technical College System of Georgia; President-Elect Scott Argo, the associate director of Admissions at Augusta State University; Immediate Past-President Angela Evans, Ph.D., director of Student Recruitment and Admissions at Kennesaw State University; Secretary Megan Taylor, associate director of Admissions at Young Harris College; and Jenkins.
Members at large are David Booze, associate registrar at Spellman College; Selena Magnusson, registrar at Georgia Northwestern Technical College; and Cindy Peterson, director of Admissions at Piedmont College. Professional access and equity will be represented by Romina Torres, associate director of Recruitment and Admissions at Kennesaw State University. The local arrangements chair is Donna Webb, director of Admissions at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
