Women's Studies lecture talks "Women in Politics" March 8

AMERICUS (March 1, 2012)—The Women's Studies Program at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) will sponsor the fourth in the Women's Studies Lecture Series on Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. The event is set to take place in Student Success Center adjoining conference rooms 2410, 2413 and 2417. The lecture title is “They Gave Us the Vote, Now What? Women in Politics! That’s What!”

The public is invited to attend this event.

Lecturers will discuss broad ranging topics of women in politics. Susan Bragg, Ph.D., GSW assistant professor of history, will present “Shirley Chisholm: Race and Gender Politics in the Era of the New Left.” Jason Berggren, Ph.D., GSW assistant profess of history, will present “Michelle Bachman: Religion and Gender in the Era of the New Right.”
