AMERICUS (Sept. 9, 2013)--Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) is hosting the first Third World in Perspective Program Seminar of the 2013-2014 academic year on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Education Center, Room 100.  

GSW Third World Seminar: "Using Community Theatre to Promote Diabetes Education and Prevention in the South Pacific Islands" Sept. 18 

AMERICUS (Sept. 9, 2013)--Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) is hosting the first Third World in Perspective Program Seminar of the 2013-2014 academic year. The seminar, “Using Community Theatre to Promote Diabetes Education and Prevention in the South Pacific Islands,” is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Education Center, Room 100.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this free program.

The featured speaker will be Philip I. Szmedra, Ph.D., GSW professor of economics and director of the study abroad program. Anh-Hue Tu, Ph.D., associate professor of biology at GSW will be the respondent. A question/answer/discussion session will conclude the seminar.

Moderated by Harold Isaacs, Ph.D., GSW professor emeritus of history, the seminar is co-sponsored by the GSW Department of History and Political Science; Georgia Southwestern Foundation, Inc.; GSW Division of Continuing Education; and the Association of Third World Studies, Inc.
