AMERICUS (Nov. 5, 2013)—Sirocco, Georgia Southwestern State University’s arts magazine, is accepting submissions for its Spring 2014 edition. Sirocco, which has been a part of GSW since 1965, publishes literature, art, and music submissions from faculty, staff, alumni, and students. The theme of the upcoming edition is "Liberate the Muse".
All literary and art submissions are due by Jan. 31, 2014, and should be submitted electronically to Sirocco at email@example.com. All music submissions are due by Dec. 13, 2013, and should be submitted to Mark Laughlin, Ph.D., of the music department. Further guidelines for submissions can be found on at the Sirocco page, gsw.edu/Sirocco.
Sirocco will also be hosting an upcoming Open Mic Night. The event will take place on Nov. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Java City on the GSW Campus. Anyone is welcome to come perform their poetry, short stories, or music, and everyone is encouraged to come out to support the performers. The coffee bar will be open during the event.
