AMERICUS (Aug. 24, 2012)—After serving as vice chair and secretary of the Regents Advisory Committee on Records and Admissions (RACRA), Gaye Hayes, Ph.D., will serve as chair of the group for the 2012-2013 year.

Hayes to serve as chair of Regents Advisory Committee on Records and Admissions

AMERICUS (Aug. 24, 2012)—After serving as vice chair and secretary of the Regents AdvisoryzGaye_Hayes Committee on Records and Admissions (RACRA), Gaye Hayes, Ph.D., will serve as chair of the group for the 2012-2013 year. Hayes is the vice president of Enrollment Management at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW).

RACRA provides leadership to the University System of Georgia by working collaboratively to develop and recommend policies impacting student admission, retention, and graduation. RACRA has the responsibility to make recommendations to the Chancellor and, through the Chancellor, to the Board of Regents regarding record keeping, transfer credit, degree evaluation, admissions criteria, and other related functions.

Hayes has been in her role as VP of Enrollment Management since March 2009. Prior to that, she served as GSW’s dean of students. She has been on staff at Southwestern for more than 20 years.

Hayes earned a Bachelor of Science in political science from GSW, a Master of Education in higher education administration from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. in educational policy studies from Georgia State University.

A native of Rochelle, Hayes and her husband, John, reside in Americus and have three children, Jackson, Sydney and Emma Kate.
