AMERICUS (July 23, 2013)—Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) named Gina Wilson its new director of Human Resources this month. Wilson comes to GSW from Delhaize America Shared Services Group where she was an associate relations specialist. She replaces Janet Siders who is retiring at the end of July.
Wilson managed the human resources needs of Delhaize America’s 35 retail grocery stores. Delhaize is a food retailer headquartered in Anderlecht, Brussels, Belgium, which operates in eight countries and on three continents. The conglomerate owns various retail markets including Harvey’s Super Markets. Signing on with GSW is a homecoming of sorts for Wilson.
"I am honored to be chosen as director of Human Resources for GSW,” said Wilson. “I came to love the campus, both as an undergraduate and a graduate student here, and I am excited to come back in my new role. I look forward to building relationships with my GSW family and helping in any way I can."
With the hire came an organizational restructuring of the department. The Human Resources Office, previously reporting to the President’s Office, is now under the Division of Business and Finance.
Wilson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in human resource management from GSW in 2006 and a Master of Business Administration from GSW in 2011. She and her husband, John, who works at GSW’s James Earl Carter Library, reside in Americus with their two boys.
