GSW hosting Sumter County Economic Outlook Lunch Feb. 4

AMERICUS (Jan. 17, 2014)—The Center for Business and Economic Development at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) will host the 19th annual Sumter County Economic Outlook Luncheon Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. in the Thomas O. Marshall, Jr. Pavilion Private Dining Room. This event is co-sponsored by the Americus Rotary Club. The featured speaker will be William “Billy” Ussery, executive vice president and external relations with Oglethorpe Power Corporation.

Ussery was named to his current position in 2008 after serving as senior vice president of Member and External Relations for three years. He previously served as vice president and assistant chief operating officer. Ussery joined Oglethorpe Power in 2001 after a 14-year career at Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (EMC). While at Sawnee EMC, he held several key positions, including chief operating officer, vice president of engineering and system engineer. Ussery holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and an associate degree in science from Middle Georgia College.
