Transfer Application Process

Transfer students are a top priority at Georgia Southwestern. Our university president, Dr. Kendall Blanchard, is working to have Southwestern “recognized as the four-year comprehensive institution in the state that understands the needs of transfer students." We look forward to helping you through the admissions process to help you make a smooth transition into Southwestern. We suggest you Check Your Status online as you work through this process.

To Apply:

□       Submit your application with the $25 non-refundable application fee

□       Request your official transcripts be sent from EVERY college or technical school you have ever attended. A reminder that if you are enrolled in learning support/developmental studies classes, you MUST EXIT those courses before you can transfer to Southwestern. If you completed any college coursework outside of the United States you must submit certified English translations of original transcripts.  In addition, you must also submit your official transcripts to an evaluation service and have an original evaluation sent directly to us.  We prefer evaluations from Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. Also, if you are transferring from a technical college, it must be accredited by the Commission on Colleges(COC) in order for courses to transfer. Southwestern will also accept some approved courses from South Georgia Technical College that were completed Spring 2009 or later.

□       If you have less than 30 transferable hours from your college(s), you also need to submit your official high school transcript and your official SAT/ACT scores. You must meet our freshmen requirements and our transfer requirements.

□       You should receive a response within 2 to 3 weeks of us receiving all of the above information, if not, please call us to inquire about your application status.
