The time taken to complete a B.S. in Biology depends on the number of credit hours taken each semester as well as the hours taken during the Summer term. Students traditionally have completed this degree in four years. Some example schedules for 3-year, 4-year and 5-year graduation plans can be found at the links below.
Pre-planning of your academic schedule from year 1 to 4 is critical. Several upper division biology and chemistry courses have a prerequisites that will prevent you from taking said courses without the completion of the introductory sequence courses in their given area. Additionally, with the exception of Ecology (Biol 4050) and Genetics (Biol 4200), all upper division biology classes are offered on an alternating year schedule.
