03/12/2012 - Early Registration

Early registration for currently enrolled students will begin March 26th. Please check your RAIN account to see when you are eligible to begin registering. To do so, simply go to the secured site of RAIN, click on Student Services and Financial Aid, go to Registration, and click onCheck Your Registration Status. There you will find the date and time you are eligible to begin registering. You can also learn more about Early Registration by visiting the Registration Schedule.

While you are preparing for registration, here are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Make an appointment with your advisor to discuss what classes you need to take and how they will fit on your curriculum sheet. You should have a curriculum sheet that you are filling out as you take classes---be sure to take it with you to your advisor appointment. Click here for the GSW’s curriculum sheets.

2. Check your records on RAIN to determine if advisement is required prior to registration. There will be a registration hold on students requiring advisement which can be seen by logging into the secured site of RAIN, clicking on Student Services and Financial Aid, going toStudent Records, and then clicking on View Holds.  Advisement should be completed 48 hours prior to the time online registration is permitted according to your class. Once the advisement hold is removed, you should be able to register yourself online (with the exception of Learning Support and Transient students).

3. Clear all holds that may prevent registration (immunization requirements, parking tickets, etc.). Holds are placed on student records by individual departments. Contact the department listed on the hold for more information.

4. To request overrides for registration add errors (prerequisites, closed classes, etc.) you should contact the dean/chair of the school/department where the class is being taught.

5. General Education majors who have determined their degree path are encouraged to submit a completed Major/Advisor Change form to the Registrar's Office. It is important that students seek advisement from an advisor in their intended major.

More information is available by going to the schedule of classes for summer or fall 2012. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

08/18/2011 - Add/Drop

Welcome to all our new and returning students. We are looking forward to a great Fall semester and hope you are too.

Today is the last day to make changes to your schedule through drop/add. Registration will remain open until 11pm tonight. Starting tomorrow, any changes you make will result in a 'W' on your academic transcript. You should understand and follow your curriculum sheet when making any changes to your schedule. If you are unsure of your class selections or how they fit on your curriculum sheet, you should see your advisor.

Remember--changing your total credit hours for the term could affect the amount of financial aid you receive.

If you are a Beginning Freshman you will not be able to process your own changes. A hold has been placed on your record stating you must see Linda Randall, First Year Advocate, to make changes to your schedule.

How to register or process add/drop in RAIN:

  1. Log into the secured site of RAIN.
  2. Click on Student Services and Financial Aid.
  3. Click on Registration.
  4. At the registration menu, click on Add/Drop Classes.
  5. Select Fall Semester 2011 and click on the submit button.
  6. To drop a class----change the action drop down box from None to Drop Web.
  7. To add a class-----enter the CRNs.
